Microcredentials and their role for our regions

The E³UDRES² Entrepreneurship and Innovation Network for Smart and Sustainable European Regions (E.I.N.S.) co-ideates novel pathways for entrepreneurial universities, drives the development of entrepreneurial education, co-creates advanced support for innovation and business creation, and enhances collaboration across the knowledge triangle beyond the state of the art. As a project of the E³UDRES² alliance, the actors collaborating in E.I.N.S. comprise six E³UDRES² institutions (St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences, Austria, Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal, Portugal, Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Hungary, UC Leuven-Limburg University of Applied Sciences, Belgium, Politehnica University Timișoara, Romania, Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, Latvia), as well as the University Industry Innovation Network (UIIN) from the Netherlands.

E.I.N.S. Open Lectures Series are eight open, online and accessible lectures provided by the project experts, within the general scope to enhance entrepreneurial and innovation education, to identify challenges and opportunities for joint activities between our regions.

Dr. Diana Andone, Politehnica University of Timisoara, Romania

Microcredentials in Europe and the Romanian experience

Dr. Diana Andone is the Director of the eLearning Center of the Politehnica University of Timisoara, Romania, responsible for planning and implementing digital education. She actively supports the use of OERs, MOOCs, and open education principles, developing UniCampus.eu for training for digital skills. She will present about the EU regulations on the sector and the context of creating an open structure at university level; including what are microcredentials for different stakeholders groups within the European Universities and the 7+ years experience in the development of microcredentials, with free open courses for virtual mobilities and digital skills based on digital credentials.

Junior ICTO+

As of February 2022, I take part as UCLL’s representative in the KU Leuven Association project group about microcredentials and stackable credits. Currently, we’re developing a shared agreement about defining, developing and organizing microcredentials, preparing educational policy suggestions regarding microcredentials and creating an evaluation to assess our microcredential pilot projects.
